Redbook Magazine’s cover girl for July was Lauren Conrad and their article with her goes over her party planning ideas. If you haven’t heard of Lauren it’s probably because you weren’t watching MTV in the 90’s when she stood out on MTV’s reality series “Laguna Beach”. Since then Lauren Conrad has become a household name with her line of clothing at Kohl’s and her multiple young adult books that are a favorite of young women and most of which have been NY Times best sellers. Her new venture is “The Little Market”, an online fair trade retailer. She is definitely one of those girls who knows how to put together an outfit and a room, and of course a party.
Married to musician William Tell since 2014, Lauren talks to Redbook about their differing ideas on throwing a party. While Lauren use to like the more detailed party she’s learned to take it down a few notches and enjoy a more stress free party like her husband. She absolutely hits the nail on the head when she explains that having all these amazing decorations and food are great, but if you aren’t having fun its probably not worth it.

When Jessica Boskoff’s little boy Teddy turned one, she created a unique farm-themed birthday party. This type of party is perfect for a boy or girl, and can be fit for any young age.
The children’s table was covered with a red and white checked table cloth, accented with a strip of artificial grass in the center, and lined with bushels of apples. Each place setting was occupied with a pint basket filled with treats, and farm themed books that were tied with twine. A small mason jar was cleverly topped with a lid that held a matching red and white straw. There were enough small red chairs around the table to hold each of Teddy’s little guests.
On the other side of the room sat a country style table filled with a delicate display of farm- themed desserts such as pies, caramel apples and animal shaped cake pops, all surrounded by small pints of cherries. A country style jug held a beverage of juice, and with the farm theme still in her mind, Jessica incorporated a mixture of apples, radishes and greens to accent the table.
Hay bales were placed nearby to hold miniature cups of strawberry cheesecake, while an additional group of hay bales rested on the other side of the room holding more treats for the children.
Teddy’s high chair was decorated to look as though he were sitting in a saddle, and a wagon filled with hay pulled him through the room, allowing him to make a grand entrance.
Jessica is not only Teddy’s mom, but she is the founder and CEO of Twenty Three Layers. The event planning company, located in New York City, is ready to plan your next event.
